magnitude of the move sinking in...

Today we got about 7 of the 30 boxes mailed off that we are sending. We can home and packed up more to ship out later this week. I have a lot coming too me this year (we all do), alot of moments where I will think "What in the Heck were we thinking!" I told Steve that I know when I get there (Utah) and see all the things that need to be done I'll get frustrated and depressed and probably cry, then the next day "I'll get to work" ... I've got aot on my plate, I've always been a very determined woman and I know how to get things done, but this year is not going to be easy. Those first months are challenging in any move, but with this one, I'm moving without Steve, living with family, painting the boys room and taking on a few other things like choosing, preschools, Ky's school, baby sitters for Quinn and a part-time job etc, plus not only helping myself adjust, but assuring the boys that everything will be ok and see that they are adjusting too to these changes..I'm going to be very sad to Leave my Love here and start our new temporary life in Utah without him. Thus there are exciting things too about this change. We got a new car, we get to celebrate the holidays around the family, pay off some bills, let the boys know what America is like, and get to have the kids get to know their cousins again...etc. All I'm saying is that as the time comes closer to us flying out, I'm getting a bit more nervous about the changes...I guess that's to be expected

Busy, as a Bee!

I've been still boxing things up, I know so exciting! I've been doing so good on my workouts too, I feel great! Nothing real new or exciting has happened this week. We found out that Steve has to work on Saturday so that's a bummer! We were hoping to go to the Piscina this weekend.

Our weekend

Flea Marketing went well made a few more bucks off our stuff...We attending a Leadership training meeting in Angra with the Mission President, it was a very imformative meeting, Steve and I afterwards went out to the Beira Mar Hotel Resturaunt and ate out on the Patio it was a perfect night with perfect weather. They have a live piano music and it was nice and relaxing. We have been so exhausted lately. We taught lesson's today at church and then came home and took naps. I was released as a Counselor in R.S.

Countdown

Today

It's such a beautiful day outside. This Saturday is another Flea market and I'll be going to sell the last of what we want to get rid of, I went and paid for my table and talked to a friend Saundra, I asked her if she's still Kyaking in Praia, she said no, last month she saw 2 Hammer head sharks and said that since it's that time of the year when the Sharks are breeding, she doesn't want to be Shark Bait. She said that her friend even saw one that came close inland where people swim in Praia...I have not seen one shark here, and I Forget that they are out there. Crazy! Yeah I know there are shark's out there but I just don't ever think about it.
I've been packing up and boxing things for the move. Pam and Gma left Wednesday for Italy we saw them to the airport and the boys said goodbye before School. It was a nice week having them come here. I weeded outside and picked the watermelon in the back, Orion cracked them open and him and Quinn went to town on them. They were juicy! Steve is working on getting his Orders for Korea, there is a check list before they are given to him. We only have 30 days left on the island, as time comes closer, and as I put away our things, everything is becoming more real. It's crazy! I'm torn right now, I'm sad to leave, but excited to go, all those emotions that go along with a BIG MOVE!

Orion is funny!

Orion is very stronged willed, we have noticed this from his toddlerhood. When I work out in the morning and go to switch the TV to my workout DVD's he complains that I'm going to get all sweaty, he says "I don't like you sweaty" then today at the BX we were in line and a woman was saying hello to him and touched his head..he then said "Yuk all sweaty" I guess Orion already know's what he doesn't like. It's so funny to watch him and if he doesn't like something he's not a bit shy to tell ya. Steve and I both agree that he doesn't have a shy bone in his body.
His first offical day of school is tomarrow. We went to the school today and they just had a meeting with all the parents.

Today is our Anniversary!

We got a chance to celebrate today! It was simple and nice. We just went out to lunch our in praia, most things are closed on Monday's but we found a place. We got our bifana's and ate outside on the patio near the Marina. Lucia watched our youngest and Ky was at school. This week starts the big week of the UCI on base so it's going to be a busy week for Steve, which means that he'll not be home much.
Orion starts school tomorrow- He's excited to see Guida and I'm too! We have Steve's Mom and Gma coming this week! It will be nice to see them and they can meet Q for the first time ever!

Biscoits Wine Festival

Vineyard
Large Oxen off to gather the grapes from the fields
Baskets of grapes
Dinner is served, We ate, watermelon, cheese, bread, olives, they also had fish, lima beans, wine for everyone to enjoy!
Fresh grape juice, juice today, but wine tommarrow

We even got a chance to smash the grapes, The boys loved it! This made my day!
Saturday was an ok day! We had plans to celebrate our anniversary by smashing grapes just Steve and I, it didn't work out as we had planned, just seemed like the day was not going our way. We drove up at 2 when the parade was just about to go the festivites didnt start until 4 and our Nanny needed us back by 4, So Steve and I and another couple drove up and it was just a nighmare, we ran into two dead ends trying to get out there, they were having bulls fights so the roads were blocked off, it was raining too. Plus we were on a short time table. We just ended up eating at a resturaunt before we had to get back, it was yummy though.
The boys and I went up back to Biscoits and had a good time. Steve stayed back it was just one of those days for us.

WALLE Part II & Quinn gets a trim

Yesterday was a day for firsts..We finally got the chance to see WALLE, Kylor and Orion loved the movie, right after Kylor was asking if we can buy that one when it comes out on DVD... Steve and I liked what we saw of it, we took turns taking Quinn out since he just wanted to play the whole time.
I trimmed Quinn's hair just by his Ear's, I've been really reluctant to cut it since it's so long and blonde. His hair just adds to his cute face... His personality is starting to show through, he's a joker like Orion was, he growl's and makes the funniest face's, it's cute to see him crawl after the older two and try to keep up with them. It's so neat to have three boys!

Celebrating 8 Happy Years!

I know it's a little early but, Coming up on the 8th, we celebrate our 8th year anniversary! We have been together a total of 13 yrs come this December 8th 2008. Being married has been a great adventure, alot of laughs, kisses, tears, good times and difficult times. I can't imagine life without each another, I simply just adore my husband he's so great! I couldn't have wished for a better man in my life. He's a great Father to our boys and he loves them so much. I definately love my husband more today than when we first got married and each year that passes the love just grows that much more. It's been an awesome 8 yrs, and I know their will be many more to come. Here is a little look at the past on some of our most special events...We are planning on going to a festival Saturday and Stomping grapes to celebrate our day. That should be alot of fun!

Cleaning Day!

I got the packing bug! I know it's aobut a month or so until we leave the island but I got the itch to start boxing things up. Today I've been throwing things away like crazy seems like you always have more junk than you realized and I love cleaning out the house.
Kylor is in school and he's enjoying his teacher, he walks to school everyday with a 2nd grader friend Mckenzie, Orion starts school tuesday and he's glad he's been doing so well at home being a nice brother to Quinn. Quinn has one of his top teeth through, we are working on the other top tooth.
We set up our Video Cam's when Steve is in Korea we'll be able to talk and see each other instead of just the phone or IM's it's going to be nice...I'm not sure why we never bought one before. The Boys have fun playing with them.

Porto Martins Date Day

Happy Labor Day! We took a day for Steve and I to the Porto Martins swimming area. The boys stayed with Theresea which they were begging us all day to go to her house. She's a great Nanny to stay with our boys. Steve and I took down a friend Magda with us, She's a 13 yr old girl we met when we went to Youth Conf. with the church. The waves were so huge in the Swimming area today, we snorkeled and went down the slide and got a little beat up by the wild waves against the rock stairs..we had a blast! We got a bite to eat before picking up the boys.
Seems like anytime we have a free day! It's spent at the beach or Swimming holes..it's one of our favorite things to do.
