baby shower

Today was a bitter sweet day. We had a baby shower for baby Quinn combined with a Goodbye Party for Heidi Walker. The Walkers are a great family her husband was the branch president, but they are moving on Sunday. She is a great friend and has helped Kylor alot in primary, she will be missed, along with her whole family. One bad thing living here is seeing good people come and go so quickly. I'm glad we have met so many great people to help our time go bye here faster though.
We received many nice baby gifts that will help us out alot from blankets to clothes. We are so greatful for everything. Amy our friend who put the shower together even made a beautiful cake for the occasion. I only have 9 wks to go. The clock is ticking and my body is telling me the time is coming soon. I've been having alot of Contractions mostly at night they are pretty uncomfortable, so I It will be so nice to have Baby Quinn in my arms and not in my Belly....but that time will come so soon.
Kylor had is Kindergarten Orientation Yesterday he got to see his Teacher, he's excited to go to school. First day Sept 4th. We have all his supplies ready to go.

update~

Steve starts his Speech class this week and goes through October just before the baby comes.. Kylor first day of School Sept 4th just around the corner. Audrey First Angra Appointment still day unknown. Orion pooped in the toilet this paste week what a break through, first time ever... YAY! The potty training business is coming but slowly..
Kylor had his first soccer game Saturday, he played goalie part of the game, His color shirt is yellow and was a big change for him, by the end of the game he was warming up to the other kids, Sports may not been Kylors strong point, but the exposure is good for him. Orion was out in the empty field just dribbling a ball all alone. Orion can be on a team once he turns 3 here. It's interesting to see how different the two boys are from each other. I assumed the "Team Mom" position and I organize who brings treats to games and a after season party for the kids.
Audrey is mastering the Chocolate Chip Cookie baking thing (never before) it's become a Sunday special thing we all do together, the boys help put the things in the bowl. These are a few things we've been doing in our little world.
Audrey is now 10 weeks from the due date. This is been a long Pregnancy for all of us. Let's pray it goes quicker than it has been.

Praia Festival Week

This week was pretty busy. Monday Kylor had soccer practice, I don't remember if I already wrote about it but, his practice went well. He practiced in the rain, he has two coaches and they are teaching him offense & defense of the game. He did really well. He has practices mondays, and games on Saturday. Tuesday Audrey b-day.. Thursday we stayed home...we took off Kylor's bike training wheels and we are trying to get him to ride with out them now that he's five...it may take some practice though...
Then Wednesday night and Friday nights we went to Praia for the festivites, we saw some fun things, the kids had fun & both those nights were late. Last night on Friday night we didnt get home until 2am...They had a Disney themed parade and it was so cute. We got some cotton candy and I must say humidity and cotton candy just don't mix, it was pretty messy, the kids liked it though. The Dwarfs were having fun giving out balloons and chasing the local kids some of them were scared. Audrey and Orion, Gena went on a Hot Air Balloon ride it was tied down so we didnt go very high, maybe 30 ft we got a good view of the lights though. Orion liked it and he knows now that ..."Hot Air Balloons really are Hot!" That was fun, we've been doing lots of new and fun things here this summer. We were so worn out once the night was over though. We slept in until 10am...We are hoping this week we can recover from the late nights and get the kids back to a regular schedule whatever that means..?....

Seka Stuck in Palm Tree

This is kinda funny. Last night we could'nt find Seka to come in for the night...well, today after our walk to base with my friend and her boys....we heard a cat we walked over towards the meow... thinking maybe it was a cat stuck in a gutter or something (we've seen that happen here)...we'll It was Seka up high in a Palm tree. The kids said we need a super hero like Spiderman to get him out. The tree has alot pokey branches at top. Poor cat looked like he was hurt from them. I couldnt believe it, I've heard of this happening before like in movies and books, but never in real life. It was a good 15 foot tree. I tried calling Steve on cell phone but he'd already gotten home for lunch.
Anyways, Steve came to the Rescue, he actually climbed the tree in his uniform, he was able to get close to the cat just to grab it's collar and drop it down. We all had a pretty good laugh from it. The boys think that daddy is a super hero! Steve got a few minor scratches, but all and all it turned out well. I wish I had the Camera, but not this time.
As people drove by we got some interesting looks, I guess we have a neighborhood Cat Rescuer living with us...Steve is a good tree climber, but this is the first actually climbing a Palm Tree. I'm sure after this Seka will know better to be climbing palm tree's....lets hope so anyways...

Audrey B-Day

We'll another year older...Audrey is now 27. We celebrated by spenting alot of time at the clinic since Steve had the day off..Had a Sugar test done in the morning...then at 2 had another ultrasound the Brain Cyst is gone and things look good. We made sure all those Boys parts are there too! Baby weighs about 3 lbs now.
We had a pastry portugese cake and ice cream just the 4 of us at home. The cake was good, it was really light with whip cream for frosting different but really good. Steve and the boys make a really nice card, it was nice.
*my friend has organized a baby shower get together on the 24th of Aug* It's really nice of her to do that..so that's coming up.
All and all it was a nice day. Thanks to all who thought of Me...Love ya

Praia Fest Kicked off Friday

Saturday we took the kids down to the Beach and had a Sail Boat ride. Sunday evening went to see some Praia Fest. things we thought there was a parade but they didnt have one. We saw lots of different things..most of these things happen late into the night. The Boys have been really wild lately, Steve and I have been working with them on that. They have been testing both of our patience levels. I guess they can sense that some changes are about to happen, with the baby comes and everything.

Latest.

Monday, was an eventful day the kids were wild due to our late night on Sunday...Then Orion got his first Bee sting as we walked home from base, poor guy..he looked down and touched something on the sidewalk, we can only assume it was a bee since he cried for the next few hours and his thumb swelled up then he fell asleep. It was definately a MONDAY!
Tuesday, Steve was off it was so nice. We got so many things done. We dropped of the kids with Theresa for the afternoon, We ran a whole bunch of errands for the day.I had a Dr. appointment. Everything looking good. I should be going to the Angra Dr.'s by next month since my refferal is in to starting seeing them come Sept. Yep, the decision is final we are staying on the island for the baby, no Germany for us this time. It's a good decision we feel. So Lamaze will come in handy!!! ~likely no epidurals here, honestly I'm not sure if I would want them to give one to me here...not sure on their training. Steve has been very willing to practice the lamaze excercises that I've been reading about from Librarys books...I'm glad he's such a good support to me, I've been kinda nervous to stay. Steve has great faith in me.
We also were able to get a TV a friend sold to us, and got groceries with no kids, it was nice.
Kylor signed up for Soccer, first game Aug 18th. I will keep you posted.
Orion and Kylor are really into Power Rangers lately, Yesterday, Orion put on a plastic cape and went straight over to Ky and punched him, I guess having the cape on made it ok in his eyes....not in Mine or Steve's..needless to say he got in trouble...Orion is starting to say prayers with help and even get this ....asks us to be excused from the table, I guess having Kylor start that when he was young was a good idea after all. That is the latest on the family.
